Assalamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuhu

Insha Allah this is my first blog post and thought what better time to kick it off than in this blessed month of ramadhan.

Alhumdullilah we have waited 11 months and continually made the dua 'Allahumma Balighna Ramadhan' (Oh Allah, allow us to reach ramadhan) for this time to come and Alhumdullilah ramadhan is here! Insha Allah is absolutely crucial that we do our best to take advantage of this month but before I do that i feel that there is always time for express gratitude to Allah SWT.

And this year, SubhanAllah did it hit me big time! a few hours before the night of ramadhan to come, i went into my local convenience store and while i was there I met a brother who we meet often in the masjid and in the shop and after our usual greeting of salaam, he asked me to remember his family and village back home in my duas who are expecting to face a very difficult time during ramadhan following recent events simply because they are muslims.

That is when it hit me....the gratitude....as we are enjoying our ramadhan spending time in the masjid, meeting with loved ones for iftaar and going out to pray tarawih (and in some masjid even enjoying the experience of praying outside), there are muslims in other parts of the world who are going through such hardship, worrying about the safety of them and their families, and relatives over here in the UK on tenterhooks praying that everyday passes and their loved ones are safe.

It was a reminder for me that it is only from the mercy of Allah that i am currently able to celebrate this month is such safety and for that i would be eternally grateful. Alhumdullilah that ramadhan has come and Alhumdullilah for being here in such safety.

With that in mind, insha Allah we should try out best to look after those who are less fortunate either financially and more importantly with our time and effort. I would like to humbly request all to remembers those brothers and sisters who are encountering difficulties both at home and abroad in their duas.

JazakAllah Khair
